Admission & Academics

Pre-registration/enquiry through online form or in person.

After receiving the pre-registration form, the school will contact you with an appointment date for your child for interaction/entrance test. Parents need to accompany their child on the specified date for the entrance test/interaction. The details of the interaction is as follows:

  • Pre KG and LKG - Oral interaction with the child
  • UKG - Oral Interaction and written test in letters and numbers
  • Grade I – II - Written test in English and Mathematics
  • Grade III onwards - Written test in English, Mathematics and II Language

The admission of a new student to our school is purely based on the performance in the entrance test, the availability of seats and satisfying the age criteria.

If the child is selected and interviewed by the Principal, then the parents will have to meet the Administrative officer for further admission formalities.

Documents to be submitted at the time of securing admission:

  • Attested copy of the Birth Certificate
  • Transfer certificate from the previous school (from class II onwards)
  • Proof of residence
  • A copy of the latest progress report (from class II onwards)
  • Aadhar card no.
  • EMIS Number of the child
  • Photographs

A schedule of fees with details of the necessary payments can be obtained from the School Office.

10:00 am to 11:30 am (Saturdays)

AKGPS follows the CBSE curriculum which has been framed to be child centric. The children are encouraged to be independent thereby developing their critical thinking and problem solving capability. Activity based approaches are adopted to make learning an enjoyable part of the child’s life.

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is done throughout the year as per norms laid by Central Board. We have a grading system for assessing the overall performance of children.The academic year is divided into 2 terms. Regular slip tests and 2 cycle tests are conducted in each term for Grades I and II while regular slip tests, one Unit Test , one Mid Term Test and one Semester Test is conducted for Grades III and above. We believe in giving more emphasis on the child’s listening, speaking and reading skills thereby improving his/her writing skills.

The Medium of instruction is English. At the second and third language level, the school offers Hindi and Tamil as alternatives. Malayalam is taught as a hobby language during after school classes.

Timings:- Monday to Friday:

  • Play Group - 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • K.G - 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
  • Grade 1 – 7 - 8:00 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.

After 3 late entries, the student with the escort will have to meet the Principal to be permitted to attend classes.

Dress Code:

  • Carousel
    • • On Wednesdays, the students are expected to come in regular uniform (Blue shorts and Yellow T-shirt)
  • LKG and UKG
    • • On Mondays and on the days they have PT in their timetable, all the students will have to come in Pink T-Shirt and Tracks with white shoes. On all other days students are expected to come in regular uniform
      (Girls – Frock and Boys- Grey Shorts & Blue Shirts)
  • Grades I to VII
    • • On Mondays all students will need to come in Pink T-Shirt and Tracks with white shoes.
    • • Students will need to wear their allotted house T-Shirt with tracks and white shoes for the days they have PT in their timetable.
    • • On all other days regular uniform will need to be worn with black shoes.
